IMEA Festival, Volunteering & Participants

Congratulations to this year’s IMEA District Honor Choir Participants: Agata, Jacob, Kate, Reede, Kevin, Jack, and Jaden.  Great job to all who auditioned!

This year, GBN is hosting the IMEA District 7 Band, Choir, and Orchestra Festival on Saturday, November 11. This is a huge undertaking, and we will need plenty of help from the students in our department to make it happen. Below, please find a link to sign up as a volunteer for a portion of the festival. Sign-ups are open to ALL students in the Fine Arts department, and each volunteer will receive a free t-shirt to wear on the day of the festival. Tri-M members will receive one service credit for each shift they work, and anyone may sign up for multiple shifts as long as they do not overlap. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Zweibel at azweibel@glenbrook225.org. Thank you!

Hello, my name is Kelsey Nichols, and I’m the new choir director at GBN.  I’m thrilled to be joining the program and can’t wait to get started!

I received my Bachelors of Music Education degree from the University of Illinois and student taught at Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora.  From there, my first job included teaching elementary music and directing a high school show choir.  My second job took me to Wheaton, IL, where I taught choir at Edison Middle School and Wheaton-Warrenville South High School for three years.  I was also responsible for directing their show choirs and musical theater productions.  I am now completing my Masters of Music Education degree from the VanderCook College of Music and beginning my first year here at GBN.

My personal interests include baking, spending time with friends and family, and looking after my dog, Max.  I look forward to getting to know everyone here!

Welcome back!

We’re so excited to get started on another music-filled school year. We have a lot of great music planned, and some other fun activities to start the school year. On the first day of school, the CTPO is hosting a Choir Ice Cream Social after school in the gazebo outside of the orchestra room. All are welcome, so bring a friend.

In other news, all choir members will receive a GBN Choir T-shirt, compliments of the CTPO.

Stay tuned for more information about upcoming events, Ladies First auditions, and other choir info. Can’t wait to see you all soon!

Congratulations to all who auditioned. As is so often the case here at GBN the decision making process was intensely difficult. Thank you for your support of our programs and ensembles.
